David Carson:

I’ve built a handful of multimillion-dollar companies.

I’ve worked with some of the biggest brands in the world—Nike, Coca-Cola, American Express, IKEA.

And here’s the weirdest thing I’ve learned:

The ideas that actually break through—that open new markets, that change industries, that stick in people’s heads and refuse to leave—

almost always start the same way:

They sound… dumb.

Too dumb to say out loud.

Too dumb to pitch in a meeting.

Too dumb to survive a spreadsheet.

And yet—those are the ideas that work.

Not because they’re dumb…

but because they dared to ignore what everyone else thought was smart.

I’m David Carson, and this is Dumbify—the podcast that celebrates the weird, wrong, and wildly impractical ideas that accidentally—or sometimes very deliberately—end up changing everything.

Each week, I tell you one story:

A real idea that looked ridiculous on the surface… and turned out to be a masterpiece underneath.

Like the water brand that looks like a heavy metal album—and somehow became a $1.4 billion company.

Or the college kid who gave up her iPhone and triggered a digital rebellion.

Or the “exploding kittens” card game that raised $8 million by being completely unserious.

These aren’t accidents.

They’re case studies in what I call dumb-thinking—a counter-intuitive way of solving problems, launching ideas, and building things people didn’t even know they needed.

If you’re a founder, a creative, a strategist, or just someone who’s tired of playing it safe—

this show is your permission slip.

To challenge the logic.

To chase the oddball idea.

To say the dumb thing out loud… and then try it.

Because what if that “dumb” idea?

Is actually the one that works?

This… is Dumbify.
